One of the most important trends in the development of accordion art is the intensification of the scientific activity of teachers, students, concert performers on various topical issues related to the existence of the accordion in modern musical culture. It is necessary to comprehend the achievements of the leading figures of the past and present, to study the formation and evolution of the accordion art, to study the peculiarities of the method of teaching the accordion, to analyze the accordion literature, etc.

In order to present a solution to these issues, as well as a number of others, the Scientific and Practical Conference “Accordion and bayan performance: problems and prospects” was organized, which created a common discussion field for the exchange of experience between young musicians and teachers, to support scientific research and stimulate it.

The author of the idea and curator of the conference is Grigoryeva Irina.

The conference is held on the basis of the State Saint-Petersburg Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, with the support of the Bayan and Accordion Department and the Student Scientific and Creative Society.
